The Heckman Bindery began in the Heckman's home in 1930. Paul Heckman and his friends "tinkered" with binding books in the basement. It was Vernon Heckman, his father, that saw an opportunity to make money and support his family during the Great Depression. By the 1970s there were 550 employees, and they were the largest bindery in the United States.
Our gratitude to Tom and Kay (Heckman) Hervey for underwriting this exhibit.
Brenda has been a vendor in our Market @ the Museum for several years. She also is part of our Bee Hive gift shop. This is her first time as a featured artist in our gallery.
Born and raised in Indiana, she formally taught elementary and middle school art. She now continues her love and passion for teaching through her studio, The Art Giraffe. Brenda's exhibit showcases her talents in multiple mediums.
The exhibit will be in place from Aug 1 - Oct 1.
